Characteristics of Forged Steel Ball
1. The raw material of forged steel ball is hot-rolled round steel. The grain size, non-metallic inclusion, central porosity, ingot segregation and other data comply with the relevant national standards. It has all the characteristics of high-quality steel and becomes a high-quality grinding ball after forging, rotary cutting and heat treatment.
2. Rotary cutting steel ball realizes mechanical automation production. The automation degree from steel ball forming to heat treatment is very high to avoid unstable quality caused by manual operation.
3. The steel ball has high volume hardness, compact structure, fine grains, good wear resistance, and its wear can be reduced by 40-45% compared with low chromium cast ball.
4. Since the quality of raw materials is stable, the impact toughness is up to 12-25J/cm2, and the crushing rate is less than 1%, especially the large diameter steel balls have the advantages that cannot be achieved by casting steel balls in SAG mills.
5. The density of forged steel balls is large. When the mill model, grinding particle size and slurry concentration are certain, the forged steel balls can choose steel balls with smaller diameter than the cast steel balls, which can also ensure the impact strength. Under the condition that the number of balls loaded by the same type of mill is fixed, the number of balls loaded is increased and the grinding efficiency is improved.
